About us, who are ‘we’?

CDS is a full-service internet business development & marketing firm.

I am unsure if I can even speak of our collective minds ‘en-masse’. What I can tell you that we have a strong culture of customer satisfaction and sound principles and practices. As the owner, and a nearly 20 year veteran of entrepreneurial adventures, I understand one simple truth. If our clients don’t succeed, we don’t succeed.
I can’t imagine having the audacity to invoice a client if revenues and profits are falling on our watch. Scavengers we are not. It is when our client’s revenues are growing that they ‘want’ to pay that invoice, as well as retaining us for even further services. This is the essence of business development. We must have a positive effect and a measurable Return On Investment.

We have been providing marketing and business development services and solutions over multiple markets, mediums and platforms for nearly 2 decades. Our team is comprised of business managers, marketing and sales executives, application developers and creative professionals.

Experience + Knowledge = Success

It’s not all about research and numbers. Many times it’s experience that is the tenet of the day. We have purposely set out to create a team of individuals to deal with a varied mixture of problems and scenarios. Part Purpose, part instinct. We don’t believe in failure.

Our parent Company is Comprehensive Development Services. It sprang to life in 1987 and has been delivering business development and marketing solutions offline until 1998 at which time we branched out into the web and internet business development.

We have been creating, what IMHO, is the "Perfect Storm' of internet business development. Our holdings currently consists of a;

Hosting Company; To deliver server requirements and other technical support (DNS routing, domain name management yadayada). Where it all starts, technologically anyways.

Web Development Company; picks up the ball and created the businesses online identity and functionality requirements as well as ongoing site management and upgrade tasks.

Business Development Marketing company; Does planning and oversees all aspects of the development and marketing.

Why do we not call it the ‘Holy Trinity’ of internet business development? It’s because we’re missing an essential ingredient. Let’s look at what we have; The Hosting gives the site a home. The Design/Development gives it an identity and functionality. The Search Engine Marketing brings the people to the gates.

We’re missing a CRITICAL part of the equation is the Sales apspects. The processes involved with maximizing conversion rates of the website. It is NOT search marketing and certainly NOT an activity for web developers and copy writers. While we do provide this invaluable service here at CDS, I believe it gets convoluted with our other offerings and its immediate value greatly over-looked.

As such, we at CDS are actively developing a FOURTH company to address these needs specifically. I once read a simple analysis of user behavior from the prospective of conversions and retention rates;

Attract – Capture – Educate – Sell

It outlines the ‘path’ we seek. Looking at internet business development from merely ‘Hosting’, ‘Web Development’ and ‘Search Engine Marketing’ seems to be fundamentally flawed as we would be working with our client right up to when they need us the most, making the sale. In the end this is what an internet business is all about. So how can we merely walk them to the door and leave?

It is our goal to offer a ‘complete’ service (we already do actually*) that doesn’t fall short at the finish line. I think not of a ‘Holy Trinity’ of services, but a four sided Cinder BLock. This block is the foundation from which I believe an internet business should be built.

* We have a client’s that have basically ‘Handed us the keys’ to their internet businesses. One fine fellow, Jeremy, last emailed us 1 week ago from the Dominican where he had dropped in with his sailboat.
